Lunch concert: Split Trio
Originating from the same unique, and culturally infused city in Syria, Anan (Violin), Talal (Oud) and Rebal (Percussion) came together to create Split Trio, a musical trio based in the Netherlands and created in Codarts University. Anan (Violin) and Talal (Oud) are both split students between jazz composition and Ottoman music while Rebal is studying percussion. Inspired by their studies and backgrounds, the trio plays their own compositions and arrangements of both traditional and classical middle eastern pieces.
The trio focuses on putting elements together from middle eastern as well as Western Classical music and jazz as well, during which they showcase playfulness with their free and rhythmic improvisation, rich with odd metres.
Anan Alkadamani: Violin
Talal Fayad: Oud
Rebal Korkmaz: Percussion
